Industrial PoE switches feature carrier-grade performance and can withstand harsh operating environments. Industrial PoE switches have rich product series and flexible port configuration, which can meet the needs of various industrial fields. So, how should the industrial PoE switch be wired? Next, I will introduce the four connection methods of industrial PoE switches in detail, let's take a look!
一. Both industrial PoE switches and terminals support PoE
In this method, the industrial PoE switch is directly connected to the wireless AP and network camera that support PoE power supply through the network cable. This method is the simplest, but you also need to pay attention to the following two points:
1. Determine whether the industrial PoE switch, wireless AP or network camera are standard PoE devices
2. Carefully confirm the specifications of the purchased network cable. The quality of the network cable is very important. A network cable with poor quality will cause the AP or IPC to fail to receive power or restart continuously.
二. The industrial switch supports PoE, but the terminal does not support PoE
In this solution, the industrial switch is connected to the PoE splitter. The PoE splitter separates the power supply into data signal and power. There are two output lines, one is the power output line, and the other is the network data signal output line, that is, the ordinary network line. The power output is 5V/9/12V, etc., which can match various non-PoE power receiving terminals with DC input, and supports IEEE 802.3af/802.3at standards. The data signal output cable, that is, the ordinary network cable, can be directly connected to the network port of the non-PoE powered terminal.
三. Industrial switches do not support PoE, but terminals support PoE
In this solution, the industrial switch is connected to the PoE power supply, and the PoE power supply adds power to the network cable and then transmits it to the terminal. This solution is beneficial to expand the original wiring network, and has no impact on the original network.
四. Industrial switches do not support PoE, and terminals do not support PoE
In this solution, the industrial switch is connected to the PoE power supply, then connected to the PoE splitter, and finally transmitted to the terminal. Plans 3 and 4 are suitable for the transformation of traditional networks, that is, the original industrial switches do not support PoE power supply, but want to take advantage of the benefits of PoE power supply.
In practical application, how should the network cable be connected? Many friends have some understanding of POE power supply technology, and know the sequence of power supply lines such as 1 2 3 6 or 4 5 7 8, so they are afraid that if they are connected incorrectly, it will cause serious consequences such as equipment burning. . The POE power supply standard requires that PSE equipment such as industrial PoE switches and POE power supply modules (POE power supplies) only need to support one of the 1 2 3 6 and 4 5 7 8 power supply line sequences.
