What are the applications of Poe technology in the industrial field?

Power over Ethernet (POE) is a dual function technology of standard Ethernet cabling, which is used not only as a data transmission facility, but also as a means of supplying power to remote equipment. The emergence of this technology provides many advantages in simplifying installation and improving interconnection efficiency. Common devices used in this technology include: IP phones, security cameras, intelligent lighting devices, modern intelligent office equipment and other devices, which can use Poe technology to complete equipment power supply. In this way, the cost of configuring the power cord can be saved, and the whole device is simpler and cheaper.

The same is true for industry. Transmitting power through Ethernet cables requires fewer cables to be laid on the facility, making it easier to establish or reconfigure production sites. At present, Poe technology has extended from traditional WLAN, network monitoring, IP phone and other fields to new retail, IOT, smart city and other new application scenarios. ZXR016FP an hardened 16-port Industrial PoE Switch, provides non-blocking wire-speed performance in harsh industrial environment. It also provides 16-port 10/100-TX RJ45 copper interfaces delivered in an IP40 rugged, strong case with redundant power system. Its slim case is suitable for such applications as surveillance system deployments, control management and wireless service in climatically demanding environments with wide temperature range from -40 to 80.

 

The ZXR016FP series is packaged in a compact IP40 case that allows DIN rail to have efficient usage of cabinet space. It provides an integrated power supply with a wide range of voltages for worldwide operation. It also offers dual-redundant, reversible polarity 48V DC to 57V DC power supply inputs for 

high availability applications requiring dual or backup power inputs.
